Arkansas State sophomore midfielder Christina Fink and senior defender Ashley McMurtry were each named the College Sports Madness Sun Belt All-Conference team as released by the online publication Tuesday morning.
Fink was named a first-team selection, while McMurtry was a second-team selection. The honor is the first all-conferenceselection for either play and they are the first ASU soccer players to earnall-conference awards from the College Sports Madness publication.
Fink, who was also named as the publication's Sun Belt Player of the Week on Monday, scored a goal and assist in ASU's final regular season matchup against Arkansas-Little Rock on Oct. 26.
Her goal and assist gave her 29 points for the season, the most ever in a single season by an ASU player. Her nine goals also rank as the second most in school history, while her seven assists are tied for the second most in school history with McMurtry, who also has seven assists on the year.
McMurtry helped anchor a defensive backline for the Red Wolves that went 7-2 at home and allowed just 10 goals in nine home games. She helped the team record seven shutouts, the most in school history.
The ASU soccer team will return to actionWednesday, Oct. 31 against Western Kentucky in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference tournament. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
