Habitat for Humanity helps the community

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Mike Hart and his church have teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to help build a home for one of its members and his family.

When Mark and Kathy Carmen and their son JP's home was in disrepair the project to fix up a new home all began with help from Habitat for Humanity

"We recommended mark contact them and he did he went through an application process and he was approved and I guess I was the middle person between he and the church and it was really neat to see how it all worked together," said Hart.

As soon as the house was appointed, help from members of the church volunteered a helping hand.

"We've seen God work to get some people involved from our church we had probably 7 to 18 people a lot of them different people on the weekends from 8 until 12 on Saturday and give their time and effort and it's been a great time of fellowship."

Hart says he recommends all churches in the community to pair up with Habitat for Humanity to help those who need it most

"I would challenge any church to partner up with habitat to make a difference in their community because there are people all over this community that are in dire need of a home."
