BALLARD COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Authorities are investigating a deadly hunting accident in Ballard County.
According to Sgt. Garry Clark with Kentucky's Department Fish and Wildlife , it happened at 8:15 a.m. Sunday morning in the Gage community off of Frazier Road.
Samuel Ryan Henderson, 38, of Paducah was killed in the accident.
Sgt. Clark says four men were hunting together, but in two separate deer blinds.
Later, all four hunters converged at a fence to move to another spot of land.
One of the hunters was about to cross over the fence when he slid his gun off of his shoulder to hand to a person on the other side.
While he was sliding it off his shoulder and down his arm, the trigger somehow got caught on something, and accidentally discharged hitting Henderson in the head killing him instantly.
