ASP: Man not wearing seat belt is killed after crash

Caruthersville, MO (KAIT)- A man is dead after his car overturn ejecting him in Mississippi County.

According to Arkansas State Police, 75-year-old Gerald Johnson was traveling southbound on Interstate 55 when it crossed the median into the oncoming lane and struck a drain pipe off the shoulder.

Johnson was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger was wearing her seat belt and was taken to a medical center in Memphis to treat her injuries.
