The Arkansas State University track and field teams will be hosting a 5K run/walk on Saturday, Nov. 17, to raise funds for various upgrades to the program's facility and would like to extend an invitation for all to participate.
The proceeds raised through the inaugural A-State track and field's 5K run/walk will benefit the Red Wolves' track and field program and be applied towards a much-needed updates and renovations of the locker rooms at the ASU Track and Field Complex facility.
Cost is $20 for adults, $10 for children ages 12 and under, and free to children age three or younger.

The event, which starts at 9 a.m. (CT), is open to all ages and competition levels. The race will start at the ASU Track Complex located by the intramural fields and conclude at the same location with an awards ceremony to follow upon the event's completion. A number of student-athletes representing both 2012-13 A-State men's and women's teams will be present to conduct a warm-up session for those participating, starting at 8:30 a.m. (CT).
Those who will be participating in the 5K run should arrive by 8 a.m. (CT) Saturday morning in order to be fully prepared and warmed up for the event.
The A-State 5K race/walk will begin at the ASU Track and Field Complex (see map below - bottom right corner) then follow on to Marion Berry Parkway. Runners will then turn left on to Aggie Road, then another left turn on to Faculty Circle, and follow the route until the path connects to University Loop (construction of completed road is not on map). There will be a turnaround marker on University Loop West and competitors will finish running the second half of the race, which features the last quarter mile comprising a lap around the ASU track.
