The American Midwest Conference released its 2012 volleyball all-conference teams this weekend, and seven Lady Eagles from Williams Baptist College were recognized for their achievements on and off the court.
Jameea Ward was named to the honorable mention All-AMC team. The middle blocker is a sophomore from Missouri City, Texas. She led the team with 253 kills and 29 blocks on the year, and she finished the season ranked fourth in the conference with 1.0 block per set.
Ward also earned academic all-conference honors. Six other Lady Eagles were named academic All-AMC, as well. They are Codie Lancaster of Bell City, Mo.; Courtney Melvin of Benton, Ill.; Katie Thomas of Mountain Home, Ark.; Emily Umbaugh of Warsaw, Ind.; Shelby Upshaw of Mountain Home; and Makenna Wiedower of Denton, Texas.
Academic all-conference honors require the student-athlete to be at least in their second semester at the institution and have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
