Cathedral Baptist Church partnering with Samaritan's Purse: Operation Christmas Child

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Cathedral Baptist Church is once again partnering with an international organization to help disadvantaged children in war-torn and poverty stricken countries.

Volunteers are collecting shoe boxes filled with toys, school supplies and toiletries for Operation Christmas Child, a Samaritan's Purse program.

"Last year out of this location we collected 5,500 boxes. This year our goal is 6,200 boxes," said Tammy Grannan. "So far I believe we're around 1200 boxes, but usually Sunday and Monday will be very busy and we're very excited."

Volunteers have 1,200 boxes right now. Cathedral Baptist is looking for donations and volunteers to load trucks this weekend.

Mon. - Sat. 12 p.m.-5 p.m.

Sun. 1 p.m.-4 p.m.

Mon. 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
