ASP increasing patrols ahead of busy holiday travel

Posted: Updated:

NEWPORT, AR (KAIT) - Most families can count on two things during the Thanksgiving holiday - turkey and travel.

According to the AAA Thanksgiving 2012 Travel Forecast, more than 43 million people are expected to drive more than 50 miles from home next week, an increase over last year.

Because of the increasingly busy roadways, Arkansas State Police will not only step up its patrols but will also more actively look for motorists not wearing seat belts.

Will DuPree will explain what drivers can expect to see when they hit the road for Thanksgiving, coming up tonight on Region 8 News.
