JONESBORO, AR (KAIT ) - The family of an American hero hosted a blood drive today in memory of him and all soldiers killed in action.
The Staff Sergeant Paul Farris Brooks Fallen Soldier Memorial Blood Drive took place at The Rock Church on East Johnson Avenue Saturday afternoon.
Combat medic Paul Brooks was killed in Iraq May 21, 2009.
This is the second year Paul Brooks' family has hosted the blood drive.
Paul's mother Barbara said the family plans to keep doing it for many years to come.
"We're going to do this every year until my grandchildren, his children, the youngest being five, are old enough to give blood, and the first time they give blood will be at that year's blood drive."
