Teen killed in highway 135 accident

OAK GROVE, AR (KAIT) – A Paragould teen is dead after a head on collision on Highway 135 near the Oak Grove Middle School. 

According to Arkansas State Police, 17 year-old Jordan Pankey was driving northbound on Highway 135 Tuesday evening around 6:00 p.m. when he crossed the centerline and hit 44-year old Joey E. Grooms.

Pankey was pronounced dead at AMMC in Paragould. 

Grooms was air lifted to The Med in Memphis.  The last word we received was he was listed in critical condition. 

ASP says neither Grooms nor Pankey were wearing a seatbelt.
