A man is in custody after police say he tried to run over another man with his van and instead slammed into the victim's home.
JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - People gathered this morning at the St. Bernards Auditorium to join one another as they enjoyed a free thanksgiving meal.
Groups of churches and businesses in the community helped make the day a success. A volunteer for the holiday event and says it didn't matter who you are, if you wanted to attend there was a seat open at the table.
Richard Carvell says, "We couldn't do this without all the volunteers that we have, they are fabulous to show up and deliver those meals and serve those meals."
As the day progressed, they continued to have meals delivered throughout the event-hoping to top last years numbers and when it comes to helping serve the community and pack up meals to deliver, organizers say they couldn't do it without the people that devote their time to help
The Holiday event served and delivered 1,310 Meals total.
Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam began the year by dismissing what he called a "caricature" of Republicans struggling to manage their supermajority in state government.
