From Williams Baptist College
The Walnut Ridge High School football team's post-season success has led to some schedule changes in the upcoming basketball tournament at Williams Baptist College. The WBC Tournament has moved a scheduled Saturday game to Monday, which will cause other Monday games to be delayed about 20 minutes.
The Bobcat football team has advanced in the state tournament and will play this Friday night at Murfreesboro, which is in southwestern Arkansas. The lengthy trip will involve several student groups from WRHS, so the Lady Bobcats's first round game at the Williams Tourney has been moved from Saturday at 10:00 a.m. to Monday at 4:00 p.m.
"We would be happy to work with any of our tournament schools for such a special event. We don't believe this change will have a dramatic effect on anyone, but we apologize for any inconvenience," said WBC Athletic Director Jeff Rider. "Our best wishes are with the Bobcat football team."
The 54th annual Williams Tournament tips off Saturday. No other Saturday games will be affected, and Monday's scheduled games will be moved back 20 minutes to accommodate the change.
