A Southeast Missouri woman wrapped up a big week by taking home a piece of the record $600 million Powerball jackpot.
CARUTHERSVILLE, MO (KAIT) - A Missouri mother is in jail after police say she tried to help her child escape authorities.
According to the Caruthersville Police Department, officers received a call on November 27 from the Pemiscot County Juvenile Office in reference to an escaped female. While looking for the female, police say they saw the mother's car pass by with her daughter in the back seat. Officers say the girl was laying down in an attempt to hide.
After failing to stop, authorities pursued the vehicle to the 1100 block of Davis, where the girl went into a residence. Police say they entered and took the girl back into custody.
The mother was arrested and taken to the Pemiscot County Jail where formal charges of hindering prosecution and resisting arrest by fleeing will be filed.
