Doniphan attempted robbery suspect arrested in Mississippi

DONIPHAN, MO (KAIT) – A man accused of attempted robbery at a Ripley County bank has been arrested in Mississippi.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, officers in Tippah County, Mississippi arrested Patrick Eugene Newman late Sunday night.  Missouri police were looking for the man they say attempted to rob the People's Community Bank in Doniphan on November 30.

Newman was identified by police as the man in surveillance photos released to the public Sunday afternoon.

Newman is charged with attempted robbery and making terroristic threats.  His bond was set at $5,000.
