Jonesboro High School student honored by U.S. Army

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- A Jonesboro High School student was honored by the United States Army Monday.

Joseph VanScoy is a senior at JHS and was selected as a member in the 2013 All American Marching Band.

"It all started when I was in the 9th grade when I saw some people before me get this huge honor and I just wanted to be part of it too," Joseph says.

An official ceremony took place with the United States Army and the National Association for Music Education.

VanScoy is thrilled to be a part of the All American Marching Band and recommends it to other students.

"It's a huge honor and to be selected to this is to be one of the best marchers and players in the nation so it's a huge honor," he says.

VanScoy will be joining the All American Marching Band during a halftime performance at the U.S. Army All American Bowl in San Antonio this January.
