WBC Lady Eagles defeat Morthland College 67-29

Head Coach Carol Halford and the Williams Baptist College Lady Eagles held Morthland College to 29 points in a 67-29 blowout victory on Tuesday night.  The game was played in WBC's Southerland-Mabee Center.

The Williams defense held Morthland to 4-of-28 shooting from the field in the first half, on their way to outscoring the Lady Patriots 39-11.  Williams shot 51 percent in the first frame.  The defense also blocked eight shots in the game.

Every member on the Lady Eagles bench played.  Despite scoring 67 points, no player reached double figures in scoring.  The balanced attack was led by Kimberly Wise with eight and Haley Tyler with seven. Cheyenne Childers, Meagan Goza, Jasmine Ford and Katie Thomas had six apiece.  No Williams player logged more than 18 minutes. 

WBC out-rebounded the Lady Patriots by an astonishing 59-18 margin.  Ford led the team with 11 boards. 

The 29 points given up by the Eagles was a season best by a wide margin.  The previous low was 47 against Mid-Continent University. 

The Lady Eagles will jump back on the court on Saturday, December 8, at 2 p.m.  They will be looking to avenge an early season loss to Blue Mountain College.  The two teams will square off in WBC's Southerland-Mabee Center.
