In 2008 Candles Off Main, a specialty retail store featuring luxury candles, created the Best Off Main Awards to honor the finest products available in high-end home fragrance. After 5 years, the annual tradition continues and is on trend to become the most coveted candle award.
Annapolis, Maryland (PRWEB) December 06, 2012
After years of observing all the hard work, effort and dedication that goes into making fine candles, Candles Off Main business owners, Susan and David Adams, felt the need to create an award to honor the talented Master Candlemakers.
Executive Director Susan Adams states, “Home fragrance is an art and a science. The detail that goes into package design, fragrance creation, and performance enhancements is extraordinary. We wanted a way to celebrate the talent and precision craftsmanship that goes into creating each luxury candle and collection, so we created the Best Off Main Awards.”
The nominees for the Best Off Main Awards are selected by Candles Off Main, but the winners are awarded solely on a public voting system. “We want to hear from the consumers what they love the most, and we wanted the manufacturers to receive the feedback and recognition from their fans.” states Dave Adams, Director of Operations.
There are 5 nominees for each of the 10 categories. Every year there are some surprise wins and defeats. Here are the results for the 2012 Best Off Main Awards:
Best Candle Line Award: Nest Fragrances. This is the first year Nest has won the category for the Best Candle Line stealing it from Voluspa who had been the only winner for this category to date.
Best Packaging Award: Belle Fleur Candles. Voluspa had been the only winner to date until this year when Belle Fleur won the award with a slight margin.
Most Fragrant Candle Line Award: Nest Fragrances. Nest won this category by a landslide and it's the second year in a row that Nest has won the award for the most highly scented candles.
Best Fragrance Award: Nest Fragrances Pumpkin Chai Candle. The award has bounced around from Votivo Red Currant to Voluspa Makassar Ebony & Peach, but the Nest Pumpkin Chai candle was the clear winner this year.
Best New Fragrance Award: Voluspa Moso Bamboo Candle. This was an extremely close vote but the win ended with Voluspa beating Votivo Pink Mimosa by a small margin.
Best Soy/Vegetable/Coconut Wax Candle Line Award: Voluspa Candles. This is the 3rd year that Voluspa candles have won this award for their coconut wax candles and they won by a large margin.
Best Luxury Candle Line Award: Belle Fleur. Belle Fleur has been the consistent winner for this category for the past 3 years in a row.
Best Diffuser Line Award: Votivo Diffusers. This is the first time Votivo has won this category.
Best Holiday Tree Fragrance Candle Award: Nest Birchwood Pine Candle. This category was shared between Voluspa Frost Pinecone and Thymes Frasier Fir for the past 4 years but the new Nest Birchwood Pine candle took the win this year.
Best Holiday Fragrance Candle: Nest Holiday Candle. The Nest Holiday candle has won this award 4 out of 5 years.
Nest Fragrances absolutely dominated the Best Off Main Awards this year winning the most categories and every category in which they were nominated. As always, Candles Off Main gives thanks to the many people that vote for the Best Off Main Awards and gives special thanks to the impressive brands that create such impeccable products year after year.
