A Florida high school student accused of setting off an explosion at school made her first public statement Wednesday.
POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT) – Pocahontas schools were placed on lockdown Friday morning after a 9-1-1 call reported a kid brought a gun to school.
According to Pocahontas Police Chief Cecil Tackett, the police department locked down the high school, located the child, and placed him into custody.
Chief Tackett said the kid did not have any weapons on him, and stressed that no threats were made against the school.
Chief Tackett says after interviewing several students, an argument between friends led one boy to threaten harm to himself. Tackett said no weapons of any kind were found, and the lockdown was for precaution.
A Nashville judge has permanently suspended the public guardian of Davidson County while citing "significant concerns" that she charged excessive fees to the elderly and disabled people she is supposed to protect.
