The Blue Mountain College Lady Toppers came into the Southerland-Mabee Center at Williams Baptist College Saturday and notched a narrow win over the Lady Eagles. The final score was 64-61.
Kimberly Wise led Williams with 16 points. She was 7-of-15 from the floor and 2-of-6 from 3-point range. Following her was Cheyenne Childers with 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Childers added seven rebounds to lead the Eagles. Tieara Burks provided a spark off the bench with nine points.
The Lady Eagles shot 47 percent from the field and 38 percent from beyond the arc but were unable to get on top of Blue Mountain.
The loss drops their season record to 6-3. Head Coach Carol Halford and the Lady Eagles will travel to Little Rock, Ark., to play against Philander Smith on Saturday, December 15. The game will start at 2 p.m. The Lady Eagles next home game will be January 3 at 5:30 p.m., when they take on Columbia College.
