ORLANDO, FL - Governor Mike Huckabee will become the chairman of the Education Commission of the States today when the national group begins its four-day conference in Orlando, Florida.
The nonprofit group helps governors, legislators, state education officials and others create and use public policy on schools. Huckabee is currently the chairman-elect of the education commission.
The conference will address issues such as the Bush administration's No Child Left Behind Act, teacher pay and higher education.
Huckabee succeeds Virginia Governor Mark R. Warner as the chairman of the group.
