WHITE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A man was arrested for kidnapping after he led police in a chase around Searcy, Monday night.

According to the White County Sheriff's Department, officers responded to a domestic disturbance call just outside of Searcy. Deputies were then told that 22-year-old Deuntae Turner had left with a woman against her will at gunpoint.

A short time later, deputies pulled up right behind Turner attempting to pull him over, but he refused. He led the deputies through residential streets and lawns in Searcy and jumped out while the car remained in motion.

After a short pursuit on foot, deputies found Turner lying in tall grass. With the help of the Searcy Police Department he was taken into custody.

Turner is currently being held on several charges including, kidnapping, felony fleeing, possession of a controlled substance, simultaneous possession of a firearm and domestic battery.

He is being held at the White County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
