Scam Alert: People posing as Ritter requesting information through calls

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Towns around Region 8 have been targeted by someone posing as a local business attempting to scam them.

According to the Ritter's Director of Marketing, Jane Woodruff people around Region 8 have been receiving calls from someone posing as Ritter Communications asking for confidential information.

There have been about 40 calls in the past few hours in eight towns in Northeast Arkansas.

Ritter is encouraging the public to not give out any information to these callers. Ritter Communication says the callers will try to convince you by saying, "to protect your system".

Once again, do not give ANY information to any of these callers.
