PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) – It's that time of year again, and unfortunately there are some people in need of a meal.
Volunteers will have a free dinner for the ones who are in need on Christmas Eve at the Greene County Fairgrounds. They met Saturday morning to prepare for the event.
They set up tables, decorations and stocked their cabinets with food for Monday's event.
Racheale West helped coordinate the event and welcomes anyone who is in need of a meal.
"If you know someone who needs a meal, we're going to be here. If you know a neighbor who is going to be alone one Christmas eve let them come out here, let them know, bring him here or let us pick them up", West says.
Rodney McClelland is with the Fairground's board and he is grateful with how it's going so far.
"It's just a community wide effort and we would like to thank each and every one of you and we're just proud that people in Greene county and Paragould area has a given spirit and heart with Christmas", says McClelland.
Racheale says the feeling of helping out someone in need is like no other.
"Anyone who comes in here can truly see the blessings in it. After seeing the folks come in and eating, just giving them a meal makes it feel good", says West.
