JONESBORO, AR - Jonesboro's mayor and other officials are hoping there may be something they can do to keep the Haworth furniture manufacturing plant open.
The company has announced it will close its plant in Jonesboro and other factories to consolidate operations in its home state of Michigan, which offered a $42 million incentive package.
Jonesboro Mayor Hubert Brodell wants to talk with Haworth executives to see if there's a way to keep the 230 jobs from leaving the city. The company says it will close the plant by the end of the year.
