JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – The winter storm has put a damper on some businesses in Region 8.
Saed Abed, the store manager at Downtown Express Mart on West Huntington Avenue said December is usually a slow month because of the holiday season, but the snow has stalled business even more.
"Our businesses depend on downtown people coming and going through the whole week in the downtown, but now most of the people they've been off, plus like today Saturday and tomorrow Sunday, which is the slowest two days we have in the whole week," he said. "We try to clean the whole parking lot so maybe we get some business too, but it's still the same. Actually it's affecting us a lot."
Abed said after the snow hit, employees cleared snow from the parking lot in hopes of bringing business.
The station is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
