Southeast Missouri Quivers With 3.5 Shake

ST. LOUIS, MO - A minor earthquake sends trembles over parts of southeast Missouri, southern Illinois and western Kentucky.

The quake occured at about 10:25 last night and measured 3.5 on the Richter Scale.  Bruce Presgrave, a geophysicist with the U.S. Geological Survey, says that's considered to be a minor quake.

He had no reports of damage as of late last night.  The quake was epicentered about ten miles south of Cairo, Illinois, in Mississippi County, Missouri.

Mississippi County Deputy Sheriff Thomas Lowe says he hadn't felt anything at the Sheriff's office in Charleston.  But he did receive some calls reporting shaking in Wyatt, which is about six miles to the east.
