ASU designates black as official Bowl game color

From Arkansas State University
The Arkansas State Athletics Department announced Tuesday that the official game day color for the Bowl will be black.
The Red Wolves will be donning black jerseys as they take the field against the No. 25 Kent State Golden Flashes in the Bowl at 8:00 p.m., Jan. 6.  A-State fans are encouraged to wear black to the game as they cheer on the Red Wolves at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala.
“We want to invite all A-State fans coming to the Bowl game to wear black as they cheer on the Red Wolves,” said Gleen Hart, ASU Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing and Promotions.  “Our fan support has been phenomenal all season and instrumental in the team’s success.”
The Red Wolves will arrive in Mobile later Tuesday night and begin on-field preparations Wednesday at UMS-Wright High School in Mobile.  The team will also be taking part in a number of bowl-game functions such as visiting the University of South Alabama's Children's and Women's Hospital and "Team Night" at the Mobile Civic Center Theatre on Thursday.  The Red Wolves will also take part in a "Team Luncheon" on the USS Alabama on Saturday and attend portions of the Mardi Gras Parade, which will feature the ASU band and cheerleaders, that evening.
ASU is riding a seven-game winning streak and takes a 9-3 record into the Bowl against the 11-2 Golden Flashes.  Fans are strongly encouraged to purchase Bowl tickets only through the ASU Ticket Office to directly support the Red Wolves and to ensure they receive priority seating within the designated A-State area.  Bowl tickets are only $45 per ticket when purchased through the ASU Ticket Office.  Fans can go to to order tickets, and the ASU Ticket Office, located at the Convocation Center's lower red entrance, is taking walk-up and telephone (870-972-ASU1 or 888-278-3267) orders.
