MOBILE, Ala. (ASU) — The Arkansas State football team was treated to a luncheon and tour of the USS Alabama Saturday as part of the activities leading up to Sunday's GoDaddy.com Bowl.
Players, coaches, administrators, staff members and fans enjoyed a barbeque lunch before going on a walking tour of the USS Alabama. One of the highlights of the Red Wolves' GoDaddy.com Bowl experience, the players spent time taking pictures and videos while touring the battleship and the various aircraft in the park.
"Today's luncheon and tour of the USS Alabama was another great event hosted by the GoDaddy.com Bowl," said ASU Interim Head Coach John Thompson. "This was a great experience for our guys, and we are extremely appreciative to have this opportunity. This has been a great week for our team, and we're looking forward to finishing strong at the game tomorrow night."
Following the tour, the Red Wolves traveled to Ladd-Peebles Stadium to take a team photo and hold their final practice heading into Sunday's GoDaddy.com Bowl.
The Red Wolves went through a light walk-through to put the final touches on their game day preparations. Arkansas State (9-3) will take on No. 25 Kent State in the Jan. 6 GoDaddy.com Bowl. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. and the game will be televised by ESPN.
