PIGGOTT, AR - The newest Solar System Ambassador in Arkansas is Kenneth Renshaw of Piggott.  Renshaw is one of four people in the state who are part of NASA's Solar System Ambassadors program.  The program organized in 1999 is intended to increase public awareness of the nation's unmanned space program.

As a Solar System Ambassador, Renshaw gives free presentations on the unmanned space program to groups in northeast Arkansas and southeast Missouri.  The presentations include audiovisual media, slides, VHS, DVD and posters, all provided by NASA.

The presentations can be tailored to suit any age or educational level, from elementary schools to university space-science programs.  Renshaw said that, with the younger groups, the Space Ambassadors aim to instill an interest in math and science.
