JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - An outreach group in Region 8 provided family fun for a good cause on the Arkansas State University campus Saturday evening.

John 3:16 Ministries hosted its first Winter Blast event at the Convocation Center.

The fundraiser included a fish-fry, silent and live auctions, live music, and kid-friendly entertainment.

Ministry director Bryan Tuggle said the event is one of several fundraisers the organization hosts throughout the year that allows men who struggle with drug and alcohol addictions to go through the program free of charge.

"We have just broke ground on a 24,000 square foot multipurpose building," he said. "But it's mainly to keep everything going with 90 residents. We figure $33 a day, per man and that adds up."
