Calico Rock man charged with murdering nephew

CALICO ROCK, AR (KAIT) – A shooting death in Izard County leads to murder charges for the victim's uncle.

According to the Izard County Sheriff's Department, Harvey Loosey has been charged with murder in the first degree in the death of his nephew, Josh Loosey.

Sheriff Tate Lawrence states a long running family dispute led to the deadly shooting on January 11.  Josh Loosey was pronounced dead at the scene.  The shooting happened on Luka Road off State Highway 5.

A woman was arrested along with Harvey Loosey on the night of the shooting, but she was later released without being charged with any crime.

Bond for Loosey was set at $500,000.
