LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A Jonesboro man is in jail after officers find a large amount of meth during a traffic stop.

According to Ravenden Police Chief Timothy McComas, Michael Oneal of Jonesboro was arrested on January 11.  McComas states the police department received a tip from the 3rd Judicial District Drug Task Force that Oneal was traveling through the area and possibly had a large amount of drugs.

Oneal was also wanted by authorities in Lawrence County.

An officer with the Ravenden Police Department pulled over Oneal after seeing him traveling south on U.S. Highway 63.  Police say Oneal was taken into custody on outstanding warrants.

A police department canine was brought in to search the vehicle.  According to Chief McComas, a large amount of methamphetamine was discovered inside the vehicle.

Oneal has been charged with possession of methamphetamine with purpose to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on suspended driver's license and failure to appear warrants.

Bond for Oneal was set at $25,000 and he remains in the Lawrence County Jail at this time.
