Jonesboro man arrested in Lawrence Co. for large amount of drugs

LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR(KAIT) – A Jonesboro man is in jail after officers find a large amount of methduring a traffic stop.

According toRavenden Police Chief Timothy McComas, Michael Oneal of Jonesboro was arrestedon January 11.  McComas states the policedepartment received a tip from the 3rd Judicial District Drug Task Force that Oneal was traveling through the areaand possibly had a large amount of drugs.

Oneal was alsowanted by authorities in Lawrence County.

An officer with theRavenden Police Department pulled over Onealafter seeing him traveling south on U.S. Highway 63.  Policesay Oneal was taken into custody on outstanding warrants.

A police departmentcanine was brought in to search the vehicle. According to Chief McComas, a large amount of methamphetamine wasdiscovered inside the vehicle.

Oneal has been charged with possession of methamphetaminewith purpose to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on suspendeddriver's license and failure to appear warrants.

Bondfor Oneal was set at $25,000 and he remains in the Lawrence County Jail at this time.
