SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

A woman has been reported dead following a house fire that broke out late Monday night in the 300 block of E. Gladys in Sikeston.

The family told Heartland News the woman is 56-year-old Barbara Jones.

Officials say they received the call for the fire around 11:36 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 21. 

Firefighters put out the fire and discovered the one fatality.

No foul play is suspected and the death is believed to be accidental but what started the fire is still unclear.

The investigation is ongoing.
