Still no 90s in NC, but rain returns this weekend

Updated:

This July is going to end up having more days below 90 than above and the cool weather will last into August.

Tuesday was another day in the 80s across most of central North Carolina, the third day in a row with such temperatures.  The Triangle made it up to 82 while Fayetteville made it up to 87.  The normal high this time of year continues to be 90, a temperature some of us may not see for another week.

Overnight will continue to be pleasant with overnight lows dropping into the lower 60s, areas north of the Triangle will make it into the 50s overnight.  The normal low this time of year is around 70.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny with low humidity continuing.  The high will be in the middle 80s.  It will be a littler warmer and a little more humid; but still below normal and comfortable on Thursday, with a high of 87 under mostly to partly sunny skies.

Friday will have a mix of clouds and some sun with just a slight risk of a shower or storm.  The highs will stay in check with the clouds around; the high should be in the lower to middle 80s.  It looks like the weekend will be more unsettled with scattered showers and storms possible, mainly in the afternoon hours.  Temperatures will still be cooler than normal too, topping out in the mid 80s.
