(KAIT) – A longtime banking official in Jonesboro has died this week.
Jonesboro native Frank
W. Oldham Jr. passed away Tuesday morning at UAMS, according to Emerson Funeral
Home.
Mr. Oldham was the chairman
and chief executive officer of American State Bank until the bank merged with
BancorpSouth Bank in 2005. He then
became the regional president for Northeast Arkansas of BancorpSouth until his
retirement in 2008.
In 1990 to 2000,
Mr. Oldham served on the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees. He became the chairman of that board in the
last two years.
The longtime banker
was also a finalist for the University of Arkansas System presidency in 2011.
