MALDEN, MO (KFVS) -
A 19-year-old from Kennett, Missouri has died after an early morning crash near Malden.
The crash happened Saturday around 4:10 a.m. on Highway J, four miles west of Malden.
According to Missouri Highway Patrol, a vehicle driven by Rachael R. Dickens, 19, of Malden, was westbound on Route J and pulled into the eastbound shoulder of the road.
Troopers say Dickens' vehicle then pulled into the path of a pickup driven eastbound by Zachary D. Williams, 21, of Malden, hitting it head on.
A passenger in Dickens' vehicle, Brooke M. Koenig, 19, of Kennett, later died at Twin Rivers Hospital in Kennett.
Dickens received serious injuries and was taken by EMS to a Poplar Bluff hospital for treatment.
Williams received moderate injuries and was also taken to a Poplar Bluff hospital.
Troopers say no one was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Missouri Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
