Weather radio transmitters are now working again

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The National Weather Service's radio system for the mid-south is back online after an outage was reported Tuesday morning.

A hardware issue with the radio transmitters has been fix and they are now operational.  The weather radio system relays current weather conditions, forecasts, and immediate severe weather information to weather radio receivers.

Severe weather is expected Tuesday afternoon and night across much of Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, and western Tennessee.
