Democratic National Convention

Democrats are converging on Boston for their party's nominating convention, which begins on Monday.

Speakers on the first day include former Presidents Carter and Clinton.

There will be an unprecedented level of security surrounding the first National convention since the September 11th attacks.

The secret service says a ramp-up in security has begun and is on schedule.

Senator Kerry and his running mate Senator Edwards are on separate seven day campaign swings and won't arrive in Boston until the end of the convention.
