Man steals, pawns, and then gets arrested

BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A man is arrested on Monday for stealing a variety of items valued over three-thousand dollars from a home and pawning them off later.

20-year-old William L. Herren, was arrested on January 28th by investigators who were looking into a burglary and theft that occurred on Havner Road, that was reported on January 20th.

It was reported that when the people residing in the home returned later in the afternoon, they found that their house had been broken into and various items stolen.

The items stolen included a shotgun, one pistol, jewelry, a coin collection, a 42-inch TV, and a sum of cash.

When the report came investigators began searching pawn shop records and found that a William Herren had pawned off to a Mountain Home pawn shop, the shotgun that was stolen.

He was located and then taken into custody. He was booked into the Detention Center on charges of both Felony and Misdemeanor of Theft of Property.

He was later released in the same day after posting a $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in the Baxter County Circuit Court on February 7th.

The Baxter County Sheriff's Department says the investigation is continuing and an additional arrest in connection with the burglary is anticipated.
