Brady not happy with opposing coach's behavior

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Saturday's game had a little bit of everything. From sideline fireworks to last minute heroics. But the one that has fans talking took place in overtime between the two head coaches.

Midway through the overtime period, a shot was blocked by North Texas that was not called goal tending originally. When John Brady protested the call with the officials, they overturned the call and awarded the points to Arkansas State. It was then that North Texas first year head coach Tony Benford began yelling unknown words to Brady, it was mostly inaudible what was said but Benford was clearly seen instigating an encouter with Brady. After a few words Brady turned and began going toward Benford also yelling.

Brady was restrained quickly by Trey Finn and his assistant coaches and commented after the game on the situation saying, "I have never said anything to the other coach, I'm always complimentary of the other coach, I don't get into verbage with the other coach. But I'm certainly not going to let a first year head coach curse me and yell at me on my sideline in my building."

Double Technicals were called, one on each coach and the game continued without further words between the two. Arkansas State went on to win the game 75-66.
