Kilgore Police tell us a search that began late Monday night has been called off.

Around 9:15 p.m. police received a call about a man who hit a security officer in the 200 block of Meadows Lane and Highway 259 in Kilgore. The manhunt was called off Monday around 11:00 p.m.

Police tell us after the altercation, the suspect ran north on the access road of Interstate 20. Although they are unsure of the circumstances surrounding the security officer being hit, police tell us the man was not armed.
