One dead after accident on U.S. 49

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - One person died Tuesday afternoon after a car crash on U.S. 49 in northern Craighead County.

According to a report from the Arkansas State Police, Stephanie M. Hall, age 26 of Jonesboro, was northbound on U.S. 49 when she left the road and hit an 18-wheeler parked on the shoulder.  Hall died from her injuries.  According to the report, she was not wearing a seatbelt.  

The accident happened around 2:30pm Tuesday afternoon between Goobertown and Brookland on U.S. 49.  Hall was driving a 2002 Oldsmobile and hit a parked 1994 Freightliner.
