Arkansas Farm Bureau Asked to Support Amendment Two

SPRINGDALE, AR - A group of Arkansans who depend on agriculture for a living are being urged to support a measure for industrial and manufacturing plants.

Former state economic development director Jim Pickens told the Arkansas Farm Bureau yesterday to support Amendment Two.  The proposal would give lawmakers power to use state money without calling for a vote if they need it to attract big projects like an auto plant.

Pickens said that Arkansas could create a larger revenue base if Amendment Two is adopted in the November elections.

Pickens said he wanted Farm Bureau support because those voters are "generally involved with everything that is good for the people of Arkansas."
