JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Three Region 8 players will be taking their talents to the next level after high school, and all of them will be team mates.
All three players will be heading to Missouri State next fall. Two of the Three signees are currently teammates at Wynne. Yellow Jackets Joe Stampley and Tony Jones will become Bears next season after inking with Missouri State on Wednesday.
Also signing with the Bears was Marked Tree Indian Darius Ivy.
With this signing Missouri State will pick two potential wide recievers and a possibly 3 defensive players. Both Stampley and Ivy played mostly wide receiver in High School and will be expected to sport the same positions with the Bears. Tony Jones spent a lot of time at Tight End for the Yelllow Jackets but will playing defense when he heads Springfield in the fall. He will most likely be on the defensive line.
Ivy said that he was referred to Missouri State recruiters by Steve Williams of Cross County. An odd story considering they were conference rivals. Ivy said that the recruiters went to Cross County and Williams pointed them in the direction of Marked Tree. "I'd like to thank the Cross County coach for the help on this one," said Ivy.
Ivy was a 2012 FFN Superteamer as a wide receiver. Stampley and Jones were part of one of the most succesful teams in Wynne football history just missing out on a state finals berth.
