STEELE, MO (KAIT) - A woman has died after a fire engulfed her mobile home.

Steele Chief of Police Billy Joe Stanfield states emergency crews responded to a mobile home fire just before noon Wednesday on Bellevue Street with the report of someone being inside the home.  

According to Chief Stanfield, firefighters and police officers responded to the scene to find the mobile home in flames.

Firefighters began extinguishing the fire and entered the home, finding the body of 56-year-old Nancy Loretta Thorne, who lived at the residence.

The cause of fire has yet to be determined, but no foul play suspected according to the police chief.
