JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- Region 8 residents are banning together to fight the war on drugs.
Members with the "Out of the Dark" Coalition met at Mid South Health Systems in Jonesboro. The group discussed progress committees have made to assigned areas and what steps they need to be taking next to raise drug awareness.
Chairman Johnny Terrell says, "we have found out that if we help the students become aware of the dangers, just that one little thing makes a dramatic impact on them not starting."
There are currently nine Out of the Dark chapters in Region 8 schools, while around 70 people attended today's meeting.
