Harvey scores 29, but WBC Eagles fall to Park University Pirates

The Williams Baptist College Eagles traveled to Park University on Saturday and fell in the road contest 85-73.  The American Midwest Conference game was played in Parkville, Mo.

Park opened the game strong, scoring 47 points in the first half and holding a 12 point advantage at 47-35.  Williams would play evenly the rest of the way, as the teams each scored 38 points in the second half.

Kyle Harvey led the Eagles with 29 points and nine rebounds.  The only other Eagle in double-figures was Chase Norwood.  He scored 22 points and collected six rebounds before fouling out.

Williams shot 40 percent from the floor but only 4-of-15 from beyond the arc.   Meanwhile, Park shot 49 percent and made 11-of-27 three-point field goals.

The loss dropped WBC to fifth place in the AMC, one game behind fourth place.  Their record stands at 15-9 overall and 6-5 in the conference.  Williams will host third place William Woods University on Tuesday, Feb. 12.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.  The game will be played at the Southerland-Mabee Center, in Walnut Ridge.
