Some local drivers have feared that a bridge collapse like the one in Washington State this week could happen closer to home. People have been particularly fearful of the aging Black River Bridge that connects Black Rock and Portia on U.S. 63 in Lawrence County.
JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Northeast Arkansas Baptist Memorial Hospital is recognized a second year in a row.
Representatives from the NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital were presented with the 2013 Health Grades award.
The hospital received this recognition for their excellence in orthopedic care.
The Director of Clinical Development from Health Grades, Sara Lewis traveled to Jonesboro to present them with the award.
Dr. Ron Schechter is an Orthopedic Surgeon and he says, "It's kind of human nature to think that you have to go to the next biggest place to get good care, and you don't have to go for that anymore. You can get it right here at home."
NEA Baptist is the only one to receive the award for two consecutive years. This places the hospital as the leader in Arkansas for orthopedic services and in the top 5 % of hospitals in the nation.
