Some local drivers have feared that a bridge collapse like the one in Washington State this week could happen closer to home. People have been particularly fearful of the aging Black River Bridge that connects Black Rock and Portia on U.S. 63 in Lawrence County.

IZARD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A man was charged Tuesday for bringing in items that were not allowed into the correctional facility.
38-year-old, Jeremy Lewis Gross from Franklin was initially sent to the Izard County Detention Facility to serve a weekend commitment for driving while intoxicated. He is accused bringing in tobacco and a cell phone when he reported to the jail.
Sherriff Tate Lawrence said that Gross had posted a felony bond in the amount of $10,000 and was released with a circuit court date of February 11th.
