KENNETT, MO (KAIT) – Upon raiding a possible meth lab, police encountered young kids in the home.

Kennett Police Strategic Response Team searched a home on the 200 block of Jones Street.

Officers arrested Dwayne Whitley and Anitra Johnson, both of Kennett.

Three children ages 8, 7, and a newborn, found inside the home were immediately turned over to the Dunklin County Juvenile authorities.

Charges included attempt to manufacture and possession of a controlled substance, and three counts of child endangerment.

Both suspects were transported to the Dunklin County Jail.
